Gay Pride

On 9th August, Reykjavik had one of its highlighted events, with the annual Gay Pride commemoration.

Haukur, Birta, Ari and I went down to towncentre to watch the parade, and it was one of the most jolly celebration i've ever been. The road is filled with people, either carrying a colorful flag or bearing a colorful garland around their neck.

We picked a spot next to a newly-opened florist, with its staff giving out free flowers and gummi bears to everyone.. *so sweet*...

The parade itself lasted about 30-45 minutes, with numerous themes marching on the road. Afterwards, we walked down to a clearing where they set up a stage with various musical performance. Definitely an event to remember.
